Dr. Chang’s recent fellowship at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic taught him the principles of Pain Management from leaders and pioneers in the field, preparing him for his new practice at The Birmingham Pain Center. Board Certified in Anesthesiology, Dr. Chang completed his residency at the University of Rochester Medical Center in Rochester, NY, after earning his medical degree in New York City at SUNY Downstate Medical Center.
After graduating with double majors in Pre-Med and Religious Studies from the University of Virginia, Dr. Chang worked at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York conducting research in Thoracic Surgery and Human Genetics. Dr. Chang’s extensive background and experience supply him abundantly with tools to address a wide variety of patients and their pain conditions. His goal is to work alongside his patients to provide a comprehensive approach to their pain, to regain function, and to improve their quality of life.
