Get up and walk, Birmingham! Every first Wednesday in April is the American Heart Association’s “National Walking Day”
On this day, Americans are encouraged to lace up their sneakers and take 30 minutes out of their day to get up and walk.
Research shows that walking just 30 minutes each day reduces the risk of coronary heart disease, osteoporosis, breast and colon cancer, and type 2 diabetes. It’s a proven fact that if you haven’t been walking regularly, you can always start today!
