FDA Bans E-Cigarettes

The FDA decided on May 5th to ban e-cigarettes to minors and to regulate all future e-cigarette products. All parts of an e-cigarette will require FDA approval. Provisions go into effect August 4th, 2016.

The decisions is met with skepticism, since e-cigarettes are considered much safer than actual cigarettes and are used by many as an aid to quit smoking tobacco. Additionally, it is inconclusive whether e-cigarettes are even harmful.

Some see this new decision as a regulatory power grab, and some see it as an honest action to protect our youth and the public from unknown health effects. What do you think?
